Volunteers at the Shelter can get involved in many things, including: 

Working with our residents

  • Plan a field trip or outing with the Shelter families
  • Share your sports, arts & crafts, music, or computer skills at the Family Resource Center
  • Plan or sponsor a birthday or holiday party
  • Plan and provide educational programs for Shelter adults
  • Be a tutor
  • Be a spanish interpreter and facilitate effective communication
  • Provide child care during resident meetings and monthly programming

Working with their hands

  • Sort and organize donations
  • Help clean up in and around the shelter
  • Plant flowers and mulch the garden
  • Paint building facades
  • Make minor repairs

Office opportunities

  • Work in the shelter office as a receptionist
  • Clerical and data entry
